Commins & Co Jewellers teamed up with Dublin’s Q102, to give this Happy Couple the chance to get their hands on a diamond engagement ring worth €2,500. Jeannette managed to keep her plans a secret from Derek and told him she had a day out planned for the two of them in town. When they arrived at the Powerscourt Centre, they were met by Dublin’s Q102 Blue Crew who asked them would they like to make a request. Little did Derek know the request Jeannette was about to make.
Women Propose to Their Men
According to the old Irish legend, or possibly history, St Brigid struck a deal with St Patrick to allow women to propose to men – and not just the other way around – every four years.
This is believed to have been introduced to balance the traditional roles of men and women in a similar way to how leap day balances the calendar.
On behalf of the staff at Commins & Co. Jewelers Congrats to Jeannette & Derek !!!
