What is a valuation?
An valuation is essentially a piece of paper that verifies the facts about the ring you’ve just paid all that money for. It’s different from the certificate that comes with a certified diamond (this give you all the information about your diamond). The jewellery valuation assigns a value to your entire ring, it takes the diamond and other stones as well as the metal in the setting into consideration.
Why get it valued?
You will need a valuation in order to get your ring insured. It will also give you written proof that the ring is your should it get stolen and recovered by the Guards.
When do I need to get one?
As soon as you have the ring in your possession you should get it valued and insured. At Perfect Ring we offer and internal valuation and an independent valuation as part of the service with all engagement rings and internal valuations for wedding rings upon request.
How much does it cost?
The average cost of a jewellery valuation in Dublin can range from €100 – €140.
